Bandit carb on G, please help.

#1 Beitrag von marko750 » Mo Jun 25, 2012 09:53

Can anybody help with translating the Bandit mounting guide?
http://www.gsx1100g.net/gwiki/doku.php/ ... vergaser_2" onclick="window.open(this.href,'_blank');return false;

Is the Gemischregulierschrauben = pilot screw? and it has to be turn 0,5 turns out each carb?
Is the Hauptdüse = pilot or main JET ? And is it needed to change or not?

Anyway it will be very nice if somebody can help on this matter.

IMHO it is easier to name the parts right if you post a picture of the carbs and mark the positions which are unclear.

Dear Uwe,

Please give me short info is the Pilot screw needed to screw out 0,5 turns?
And is there needed to change Main na Pilot JET? Can I use original jets from G carb?

Hauptdüse = main jet
Gemischregulierschraube = idle mixture control screw

The main jet has to be changed according to the list in the Wiki, 120 is ok for standard exhaust and air filter. If your original carbs have 120er main jets you can use them in the Bandit carbs. I found a forum post where someone wrote that he dismounted the nozzle holder (Düsenstock) of the Bandit carbs and then it is possible to use the main jet of the original carbs.

The control screws have to be turned out for 1,75 turns with the original carbs and additional 0,5 turns out with the Bandit carbs. A total of 2,25 turns out and all screws in the same position. They are located at the bottom side on the cylinder intake side.

Don't forget to set the needle position according to the infos in the Wiki, the second notch counting from the needle side.

Pilot jet size is also different original 30 and bandit 15. Is this needed to change or not?
As I understand from Bandit service manual that Pilot screw is on Bandit version turned out 3 turns.
And needle position has to be higer than it is on the Bandit version.

The Bandit manual may describe other settings, but you are about to mount these carbs on a G. The settings above are tested by lots of experiences during the years of handling Bandit carbs on a G engine.
They may not fit exactly on every G due to the spread for standard factory models. Sometimes they may vary a bit, that's trial and error.
The pilot jet can remain, I have these Bandit carbs too and the only jet nozzles we have changed are the main jets.

Thank you fo the tips. Bandit carb sync is not so easy as G carbs.
Now only problem is little backfire. G main jets fits without problem on to the bandit jet holder.

Marko, please go on at this subforum.
I started this thread to get in touch with the backfire problem. Meikel said that the main jets are possibly too small and there may be dirt in these lots of small channels.
So don't hesitate to write in english, we try to do our best. ;)

Hi Uwe,

I have done testrun and at the moment is feeling very good. Backfire is no problem when it runs.
Accselaration in low and high RPM-s is much smooter when it was with old G carb.

Thank you for the help.
